Three Boats -Stamford

This is  from the " Boat Period ". I was Gung Ho for just Boats , any kind , any where .
I searched them out wherever I went , all around our neighboring towns , Seattle , Greece , British Columbia , Alaska , etc, my camera  was always  ready , back home I really worked at them , for several years .Then ,I lost interest in them , can't remember why !

I love these Daisies , They are so Colorful and Defined !!
Not to say they are easy to capture, but these were fun to do, despite searching for just the right colors .

Symbols Of A Lost World

Infanview0363.jpg picture by juneto

This painting came together using all the symbols I could muster and the Colors that were unique to it  . Done with just washes to begein with, I pulled forward with templates and back with direct Brush  paitnting .
Once I thought I would get to doing Rome and Greece, making aseries  but I never got to them like so many projects I promised myself to do .

Reflections On The Pond

This was done Wet into Wet as I did in the old style that I did for many, many years ..
It was hard to return to it ,but also fun trying to keep the mystery without being too detailed and still say something unique .

The Porch On Seminary Road

This is a Fascinating house on a tiny street in the Middle of  our Little town . There was supposedly a Girls Seminary on the street years ago but it is nowhere to be seen now. The house porch faces sideways , so I have to assume that it looked down the hill , which now has houses next to each other all the way down and that the Vista was Once  beautiful . The Little  Road  now goes to the Town Parking Lot !!.
It has a Turret or Widows Lookout  which is very Spooky , because there is No water or coast-line near our town .We are inland .So what did they look down to?
It has Always held so much mystery for me even though  I have gone by it thousands of times to get through and into town but I still always turn my head to look at it , always ..
The Owner  knew just what they wanted and built a Beautiful and Expensive  home for the times .There appear to be 3 floors and many rooms..
Oddly now, there is no yard , no where to look out and no place to keep horses or park a car . My imagination runs wild ,guessing  about what it used to look like , where all the rest of it is and what life was like in the town when there were just dirt roads, horse carriages  and few people . And especially who First  lived in this  house, way out in the country.. Now it is a very thriving town with lots of peoples and  homes.
This is just the Porch , but I have painted the whole house as well , always trying to project my sense of Mystery into it .
To see Details of the House click on it .It seems very loved even now .

Norwalk Marina

I was fascinated by the empty colored buildings looking out to the sky, passing by one day on my way to the ASW art store .You might have missed them if you didn't Stop to have a good look. I was looking only at that boat.I learned to stop and really look after that, any time something caught my eye.I only wish I had had Digital in those days. I wish !
It had such a surrealistic look to it with the Fabulous Bright Red boat in front of the row of dilapidated houses .The Greenwich Art Society gave me the Edgar Whitney Award for this painting, so I have never offered it for sale . Very soon after I did this painting ,it was all was gone and now the Norwalk Aquarium stands in its place . Brand new, modern and orderly looking, lots of parking spaces ,but somehow the character of the whole area has gone with it .
Well ,They say Nothing stays the same Forever .... . NotEven Me !
Correction - it is called the Norwalk MARINA and It is a Wonderful Place ,
