Snow On the Frog Pond

Thought you would like to see the Original painting used for my Blog Title .

When I first showed this it upset many Artist friends who thought I had left too much white space on the paper .

I have, nevertheless ,not changed anything because it is how I saw it.

I did follow the Golden Mean ,but I saw the Two-Thirds ,as a White Space symbolizing Pure Untouched Snow.

It seemed that nothing ,but the white paper could convey Snow better .So ,it remains until I get a better argument !

This is 22x30 Arches Watercolor .

I don't intend to change this one.I would like to do another ,at some time of the same scene .
Today ,the pond looked just like this, but with 2 unique layers of ice , tree reflections in the defrosted water and s bit of Snow patterning the banks .I was inspired again , but no time as usual .

It is my opinion that you have used the only arguement that counts. Stick with it. Gorgeous painting.
